Traveling Into The Unknown: Vans Doc

Imagine setting out on a trip where you have absolutely no idea where you are going, what you are doing, and where you will be sleeping. Well recently Grind TV and Vans brought me on for a project to do just that. A box of Vans' new Ultrarange shoes and a journal containing a list of coordinates showed up at my door, and I had to hit the road unsure what was in store for me along the way. Guided by only coordinates, I ended up venturing north of Los Angeles up the 395 and after 3 days of hiking and camping, eventually ended up near Mammoth.

Each day was packed with adventures including hikes in 100+ degree weather, kayaking, unexpected food stops, hot spring dips, and the grand finale... hiking 7 hours in the backcountry to snowboard down some of the steepest terrain I have ever been down... all the while documenting the whole trip through photos and video. You can read more about the experience in this interview on GrindTV.

Below are some of the snaps I took along the way.
