DESTINATION OF THE WEEK: FAR MEADOW
Yosemite National Park is one of the most treasured parks in the United States. Famous for it’s jaw dropping vistas, El Capitan, dramatic waterfalls, and being the muse of Ansel Adams. However, less well known is the sanctuary of cabins right outside the park known as Far Meadow. The picturesque escape consists of 5 different cabins, created by my friends Heinz and Veronique from Boutique Homes. Recently they had an opening in one of the cabins and asked if I wanted to experience this magical place. Never passing up an opportunity for an adventure and knowing I wouldn’t be able to find a friend to go with me on such short notice, I accepted and started on the five-hour drive up to Yosemite the next morning… alone.
This last minute decision was definitely worth it. The second I drove onto the Far Meadow property I knew I was right where I needed to be. It didn’t take long to make friends with the group staying next to me… which included Lindsey Bro, founder of CabinLove. I spent the next three days roaming the meadow, cooking food over an open fire, hiking, and enjoying some much needed R&R.
If you are ever in the Yosemite area I strongly suggest you check in with Far Meadow to see if you can grab one of their cabins to have an unforgettable experience both inside and outside Yosemite.
